Medical Information Systems, Inc. provides high quality material to
medical doctors in order pursue Continuing Medical Education.
They provide two complete programs, one for Obstetricians and
Gynecologists and the other for Pediatricians. Each program provides
twelve courses per year composed of a 60 minute CD, a transcript,
and a proficiency test. Doctors are provided with certificates
recording the credits they have earned.

Our challenge for this project was to take a very successful product
and move it online, providing everything the customers were used to,
while maintaining the original system.

Particular issues in this project included:

• A two-way import/export from the existing system for multiple files.
  
• Two complex PDF reports that had to reproduce exactly the
  originals.
  
• Two complete public faces maintained from one database.
  
• Subscription-protected downloads of PDF/MP3 files.
  
• The ability to take multiple tests online, providing immediate
  scores.
  
• The ongoing ability of the company to add new isses, including
  PDF file, MP3 file, and test questions and answer key.
  
• Search facility that scans the text in the PDF files as well as
  course titles.
  
• ...and of course online payments, and ongoing changes since go-live.
